Epic Games has begun the launch process for Fab, a new unified marketplace aimed at digital creators using Unreal Engine and Unity. Starting today, creators can upload their products to the Fab Publishing Portal in preparation for the official launch of Fab.com in mid-October. This new platform will merge the Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab Store, Quixel, and ArtStation Marketplace, providing multi-engine and multi-platform support. Epic Games has set a favorable revenue share policy of 88/12 for creators. The launch will occur in two phases: the first phase allows Unreal Engine Marketplace creators to migrate their products, while the second phase in early October will open the portal to new publishers and include a migration tool for Sketchfab users. Additionally, until the end of 2024, Fab publishers will benefit from a 100% revenue share on sales of Fab Standard-licensed products. To incentivize early adoption, Adobe is offering a free 6-month subscription for Adobe Substance Painter and Modeler to users who publish a Fab-licensed product or make a minimum purchase of $25.
